Substation

Substation is one part of a power system that has a very large possibility of experiencing harm caused by the interference so that the fault current flows into the ground as a result of the isolation of equipment that is not functioning properly. The fault current will flow on the piece of equipment that is made of metal and also flowing in the soil around the substation.

This raises the noise current voltage gradient between:

· Equipment with equipment

· Equipment with ground

· The surface of the soil itself
The magnitude of the voltage gradient at the surface depends on:

· Prisoners soil types

· The soil structure
One attempt to reduce the surface tension of the soil, we need a grounding that is by adding a grounding electrode planted into the ground. Because of the location of electrical equipment (substation) and are usually spread on the area of land that is likely to have a layered structure it is necessary to plan an appropriate grounding, with the aim of getting custody earthing small that surface tension does not harm arising either under normal conditions or during disturbances to the ground. In this paper the analysis is done by using the electrode rod (Rod) with various types of installation
